| The Arbutus Volunteers
have placed in
service to the community, two Pierce Dash Pumpers. Both pumpers have the latest
in fire-fighting equipment and provides for up to 1250 Gallons/min in water
output capacity.
Engine
351, was acquired brand new from Pierce
Manufacturing in 1999, replacing our aging 1989 Hahn. This is the second and the
newest of our Engines. Most of the controls on this engine are electronic
including the shifter, the ladder rack and engine diagnostics.
The
price tag on this engine was a hefty 300K+, a large sum for a non-profit all volunteer station,
but the town of Arbutus and the crew protecting it 24X7 deserved the best.

E351 has a 240Hp Detroit Diesel with Allison
Transmission and contains a 1250 GPM Hale Pump and 8KW Onan Generator. It
has a 4 man crew cab with two forward facing and 2 rearward facing
seats. Headsets are available at each of the crew seats, officer and
driver seats for ongoing communications while en route.
Engine
352 was acquired in 1997 from Pierce and is also a dedicated pumper. E352
replaced our 1979 Seagrave. The equipment on both of our Engines are laid out exactly alike except
for some minor updates from Pierce.
