Squad
354 was acquired brand new and custom built for the Arbutus Volunteers in 1993.
It replaced our aging Brockway (now Baltimore City Reserve Rescue 1). Squad 354
has a Custom Spartan chassis and an American Fire Rescue main body.
Squad 354 is a Heavy Rescue Squad,
primarily used for complex auto extrications, and various other rescue operations. The
unit is outfitted with a 20,000lb (10 Ton) winch and a 25KW generator. The Squad
is also equipped for supporting Swift-water Rescue Operations and has a 360 Deg.
rotating and retracting light tower for night time operations. A dual tank air cascade
system provides the Squad with on scene capability for filling air bottles
during fire operations and high pressure and low pressure airbags during complex
entrapments.

Some tools of the trade that are
carried on our Squad includes the Jaws of Life, high pressure and low pressure
airbags, air shores, blow torches and a thermal imager.
