Dear
Arbutus VFD Supporter,
April 2011
This year, the Arbutus
Volunteer Fire Department Annual Carnival will be
held July 18-23. The Carnival will kick-off with a
parade Monday night July 18th at 7 PM
beginning at Tom Day Boulevard and Oregon Avenue and
ending at the Carnival grounds located at 5200
Southwestern Boulevard. The Carnival will feature
rides by Shaw & Sons Amusements, a beer garden,
food, bingo, raffles and games for all ages. The
After Dinner Spinners will provide music
entertainment throughout the week. We are excited to
announce that JoJo and Reagan from MIX 106.5 radio
will be returning this year on Wednesday night from
7-9 PM to help celebrate our event. We are looking
forward to another fun and successful Carnival.
Despite 100 degree temperatures, last
year’s annual Carnival was a success due in part to
the generosity of individuals and businesses within
the community that participated in our sponsor
program. To become a sponsor of this long community
tradition, please refer to the attached page, which
contains information regarding specific sponsorship
opportunities. Sponsor levels range from
Gift-in-Kind donations to various monetary
contributions. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Whether you sponsor the
event or not, we welcome you to join in the fun and
support the many stands that are run by our
volunteers. To find out more information on this
year’s Carnival please visit us online at
www.arbutusvfd.org.
The Arbutus Volunteer
Fire Department is a non-profit organization so
please consider a tax-deductible contribution
to our annual Carnival and thank you for your
continued support of the Arbutus Volunteer Fire
Department and Auxiliary.
If you would like to find out more
about the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, or are
interested in joining, then please stop by or visit
us online. We also welcome any prospective members
who are interested in the Department or Auxiliary to
join us during our monthly social at the firehouse
on the first Wednesday of every month at 7 PM.
Respectfully,
Glen Peacock
Carnival Chairman
