Six- Alarm at the B-Green Storage in Halethorpe

.

HALETHORPE, Md. (AP) -- A six-alarm fire destroyed a vacant warehouse in southwestern Baltimore County Saturday night, according to a county fire official. The blaze was first reported just before 7 p.m. in the 3800 block of Washington Boulevard, near the Baltimore Beltway.

More than 120 firefighters with more than 30 engines and trucks battled the blaze at the 80,000 square foot vacant warehouse, said Lt. Vernon Adamson, spokesman for the Baltimore County Fire Department. The fire may have spread to a building connected to the warehouse by a wing, but firefighters were able to protect other adjacent buildings, he said. Limited access to the area made the fire difficult to fight, Adamson said. As late as 11 p.m., firefighters were still using ladder trucks to douse the flames from above, he said.

No injuries were reported, he said. There was no estimate of the damage and the cause of the fire was still under investigation late Saturday.
